The air was electric, but Sam knew it was just in his head. He glanced again over the Devil's Trap - both the one on the ceiling and the one on the floor. Either way, they'd have the demon, Sam wasn't worried, not about that part. What did worry him was Peter's reaction. If Pete - Spiderman, Sam had to call him Spiderman during the meeting - tried to stop him, Sam knew he wasn't strong enough to make Peter stop from trying to save the vessel. It all came down to trust, and Sam just had to trust Peter would let him do what needed to be done.
Crouching by the entrance to not throw a shadow into the window, the salt trail set all around, Sam was ready to seal it. "C'mon, Pete," Sam whispered, one hand around a container of salt, the other around the hilt of the knife. The demon wouldn't be getting out there, one way or the other.

Date: 2016-06-04 08:14 pm (UTC)The sun had set, everything was ready, and Peter had set out to find a demon and bring it back to Sam. This turned out to be a little more difficult than Peter had imagined - it took him about a half an hour to separate just one from the group of five that had caught on to his trail.
Peter swings in through the side opposite Sam, that one demon hot on his trail. He's a little worse for wear, but not terribly much. He taunts them into running straight for the demon's trap, crawling across the beams on the ceiling.

Date: 2016-06-05 08:25 pm (UTC)This demon had chosen a pretty blond woman, but the vessel had been through the ringer it seemed. Sad, but it only made it easier for Sam. Striding up to the edge the circle, Sam crossed his arms over his chest.
"Winchester!?" The demon roared, looking at him in disbelief. "Why are you working with Doc Ock?" Sam asked, pulling the flask of holy water out of his back pocket and unscrewing the lid. The demon spluttered, trying to figure out what was happening.
"Why are you working with Dock Ock?" Sam asked again, his hand whipping out and liquid flying, smashing into the demon's face with a hiss and puffs of steam rising off.

Date: 2016-06-05 10:29 pm (UTC)Sam was...clearly not messing around. Peter bit the inside of his cheek and just observed from above, mostly watching Sam's face. He was kind of glad his own was hidden behind a mask - he didn't want Sam to see the emotions he was going through, right now, processing the scene in front of him as Sam burned the demon with the holy water.

Date: 2016-06-05 11:08 pm (UTC)So the demon knew Crowley, which didn't answer anything but did raise more questions. Sam pulled out his father's tattered journal. He didn't need it any more for the words, but even the very sight of the journal was scary to demons.
"Wait wait, don't do anything hasty," the demon pleaded, pausing for a second before trying to run through the barrier again. It bounced right off, Sam taking his time find the passage.
"Then tell me why you're working for a mortal like Ock."

Date: 2016-06-08 12:56 am (UTC)"Look, I don't know, they worked out some kind of deal. His soul and something extra, but I don't know what it is! I just know we've got orders to get Spiderman back to the Doc. Alive." The demon snorted a little, muttering to himself. "Probably not for much longer though."

Date: 2016-06-08 01:29 am (UTC)"Do you think someone as smart as Doc Ock would give his soul for Spiderman, much less believe he even has a soul? Most intellects like that are atheists." Sam cleared his throat and looked up again. "With Spiderman's powers on his side, Octavius would be damn near invincible. Why would he want to kill him, y'think?"
no subject
Date: 2016-06-08 05:03 am (UTC)"Probably why he signed it over. Didn't think it mattered. He'll figure it out," The demon chuckled darkly, enjoying the thought. "Why do humans do anything?"

Date: 2016-06-08 12:13 pm (UTC)"Lots of reasons," Sam muttered, pacing slowly around the circle, the book closing in his large palm. "What's the point of keeping Spiderman alive?"
no subject
Date: 2016-06-08 03:35 pm (UTC)"No idea. Doc has some vendetta against him. Probably end up killing him. It's not my problem, okay?"

Date: 2016-06-08 06:18 pm (UTC)"Been fun chatting, but I think you've outstayed your welcome." Sam took a deep breath, chest puffing out. He knew the incantation by heart, but it also was a lot of words. "Exorcizamus te, omnis immundus spiritus, omnis satanica potestas, omnis incursio infernalis adversarii, omnis legio, omnis congregatio et secta diabolica. Ergo, omnis legio diabolica, adiuramus te..." Sam watched the host begin to shake, watched the eyes stay black, then flicker to a pale green - the irises of the poor sucker who got possessed, then back to black.

Date: 2016-06-10 05:12 am (UTC)Then Sam started chanting in - Latin, probably? Peter never really had an ear for languages - and the demon started to convulse, which was way more intense than Peter thought it would be.

Date: 2016-06-10 02:14 pm (UTC)Black smoke poured out of the host's eyes, mouth and nose, a gruesome sight if never before witnessed. Sam held a hand up, palm out, fingers splayed, hopefully letting Peter know to not interfere, because everyone's first instinct was to help when something this bad was going down. But the help always ended up on the wrong side. As the spell ended, the smoke fizzled then disappeared. The body of the host fell to the ground and, despite his instincts, Sam had to check if the person was still alive, if to just to prove to Peter he wasn't a monster.

Date: 2016-06-10 07:01 pm (UTC)"Sam? You okay?" Peter asked, on the other side of the warehouse, rubbing his shoulder.

Date: 2016-06-10 07:28 pm (UTC)He glanced down at the body, then stood up. "The host is gone, Spiderman, I'm sorry. But we have to get out of here." He glanced around, hands on his hips, pretty nonchalant. "Do you think you can move the body then come back for me? I'd hate to lose the warehouse. We have a good setup here." If Sam was being coarse, he didn't notice it, he was just thinking like a hunter.

Date: 2016-06-10 09:02 pm (UTC)"...move it where?" Peter jumped down from the rafters, landing lightly next to Sam and staring at the body. He'd...never disposed of a body before, and frankly, he's kind of staving off a few flashbacks.

Date: 2016-06-10 09:13 pm (UTC)Shrugging his shoulders, Sam looked around. "Well, it can't be in another warehouse or else the cops will search all of them and find this one and call it a witch cult or something. Maybe....the East River? Is that a thing?" It likely sounded cold, but that was the luck of working in rural areas. There were lots of woods around.
"Are you sure you're okay?"

Date: 2016-06-10 09:18 pm (UTC)"Yeah," He sounded less fine than before, and he crouched next to the man, hesitantly tilting his head up, to see his face. "Is this what you - is this how - ?"
no subject
Date: 2016-06-10 09:23 pm (UTC)"Or we could leave it here and then find another warehouse," Sam amended, because he could tell by Pete's voice that something was wrong. "The host is at peace now, or in hell, I don't know how it lived. But we're done. Did any of that help you?" Sam eased his arm around Peter's middle - surprised at the strength of the fibers from the costume. He walked them out of the circle, trying to get Peter to look him in the eye.

Date: 2016-06-10 09:29 pm (UTC)"He wants to kill me. So badly that he involved these - demons." Peter had a hard time walking away, but he let Sam tug him a little bit out of the circle.

Date: 2016-06-10 09:39 pm (UTC)"Well, he's tangling with demons and you have a hunter on your side. I'd say he's in trouble." A little levity couldn't hurt, could it? "Go. Go out the roof. I'll meet you back at your apartment."

Date: 2016-06-10 09:45 pm (UTC)His hand closes around Sam's wrist, holding him there for a moment. He just - needs to breathe. It's been years, but the body lying on the concrete was painfully similar to the one he'd walked away from at the bottom of a clocktower.

Date: 2016-06-10 09:56 pm (UTC)Sam let his head sag slightly, his forehead against Peter's mask. He'd never ask him to remove it, and didn't need him to. "I'm not going anywhere," Sam said softly, matching Peter's tone because this was Something.

Date: 2016-06-10 10:20 pm (UTC)It was, he was kind of freaking out inside and it was only getting worse. Normally he'd take back to the streets, and that just...wasn't healthy. But now he has Sam, and maybe running isn't the only option.

Date: 2016-06-11 01:24 am (UTC)"Then waffles," he said, trying to lighten the mood again, hugging Peter tightly.

Date: 2016-06-11 01:58 am (UTC)"Whatever you want." Peter holds out his arm. "Hold on, okay? I've got you."
